2022 Ashram Initiatives for Teachers

Find out about our response to the continuing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic ad the related economic challenges.  These new programs for 2022 are designed to support yogis and teachers in deepening their yoga experience and sharing it with others.

Studio Grants

Teachers who are leasing a new studio may be eligible for a SATYA member grant covering their lease deposit.  Ten grants are available in 2022.  You must be a SATYA member in current standing and opening/reopening a studio in a business area.  Studios in a residential area or part of your home and property do not qualify.

The application form is available now.  It asks for a copy of your lease (minimum 1 year), your planned teaching schedule and information about how you will be promoting your classes.  The questions and your answers will help set you up for success.

This grant covers your lease deposit up to $1,000, but does not include any rent deposits (e.g. first-month or last-month rent).  It is a gift supporting your yoga business.  It may qualify as taxable income for you; so do consult with your tax professional.  Grants will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis.

    • SATYA member
    • In current standing
    • New lease for studio in business area
    • Lease deposit up to $1,000.00
    • Application form with lease copy and your plans for success.
    • Ten grants available, first-come first-served basis.

Continuing Ed Rebates

You may be eligible for up to 100% tuition rebate for your 2022 Continuing Ed.  This applies to On-Site EYTS courses (Enrich Your Teaching Skills).  You must be a SATYA member in current standing, which you may be renewing or reinstating in your EYTS course.

Your rebate amount is based on the increase in your On-Site students in each of the following four months.  When you enroll in the EYTS course, you are automatically enrolled in this Rebate Program.  Before your EYTS training, you’ll report your weekly On-Site class attendance during the prior month (we begin with a minimum of 3).  After your training, you’ll report your On-Site class attendance monthly.

If your average On-Site attendance has grown compared to the prior month, you receive a tuition rebate equal to the percentage of growth (max 25% per month).

For example, if you began with 10 On-Site students, and grew to 12, that would be an increase of 20%.  You get a 20% tuition rebate credited to your account in our Enrollment System, to be used on any of our services and products.

In the next month, if your 12 students grew to 16, that would be a 33% increase, qualifying you for another tuition rebate, but at the monthly max of 25%.

We will strongly encourage you to enroll in our Marketing Training (see below), free for SATYA members, in order to help you promote your classes and earn higher rebates.

  • SATYA member
  • In current standing
  • On-Site EYTS training
  • Report your On-Site class attendance weekly
  • Receive monthly tuition rebate equal to the growth in your On-Site students (max 25% monthly for four months)

Free Marketing Training - Social Media Yoga

Your first marketing course in social media begins in January! Social Media Yoga includes three online class meetings with our consultant Jennifer Ray, owner of SkySocial Assistant. These courses are for Svaroopa® Yoga Teachers only, with a maximum of ten in each course.

Times have changed. How to promote your yoga classes has changed. Social media has changed. Learn how to use social media to market your classes.

his first course begins with Ms. Ray’s version of Foundations for Marketing. Learn how to use social media to apply the foundational principles of marketing. Set up social media accounts if you don’t already have them. Understand your audience, organize your content, create a content calendar, use tools for posting consistently.

In subsequent sessions, you’ll finesse your skills. Find and use free tools to create content and apply different methodologies. Set goals, use metrics to track them and apply this information to market more effectively. Then understand how to get more clients using social media and how to further build relationships that leads to more clients.

To enroll, visit our webpages for each course or contact our Enrollment Advisor at 610.806.2119 or Turn on Javascript!.

Expand Mandali Travels & Mandali Zoom

Bring a swami to your hometown. Nothing sizzles like a swami does. She brings an infectious enthusiasm to your students and helps you attract new students. Schedule programs On-Site or on Zoom.

Their available dates are now listed here.  You’ll see lots of options and lots of names ending in -ananda.

For an On-Site program, choose a free program to attract new students and a tuition-based program for your current students. Their experience will build their enthusiasm for doing more yoga.

For a Zoom program, choose a free program. It will attract new students while serving your existing student body. No tuition-based program is required, but you have the option of hosting a Swami Sunday and/or an Online Half Day Program.

Whatever you choose, you’re going to love it! Plus you get support in our Host Support Calls. You meet weekly with other program hosts, to share ideas and success stories. It really helps you create a robust enrollment, which builds your own future as a teacher.

Professional Trainings Focused on EYTS

We’re focused on your Continuing Education, through our EYTS (Enrich Your Teaching Skills) courses. These are shorter courses and less expensive, so they are more accessible to you, especially in this time of transition.  They support you in getting going again.

When you take an EYTS course, you not only improve your skills, you get deep openings and new insights.  These courses feed your enthusiasm, which is completely contagious.  It builds your students’ commitment to their classes and practice and attracting new students to you.

Some EYTS courses also expand your teaching skills into new areas or help you progress toward certification.  Intro to Teaching Gentle Yoga makes you able to serve seniors effectively as well as those recovering from illness or injury.  Radical Anatomy is one of the trainings leading to becoming a Certified Svaroopa® Yoga Teacher.

Reinvigorate GeoCenters

When you can’t teach On-Site classes and teachers cannot get together, it’s hard to network and support each other. The pandemic has affected you personally and professionally, and it has affected the other teachers in your geographic area.
Our Board members and swamis are working hard on your behalf! We want to understand your needs and learn how to support your group process. The point is to reinvigorate your relationships with each other as well as your relationship with the Ashram.

Your GeoCenter Confab is part of our outreach plan. It’s wonderful to get together in this way! We hope you will invite one of our swamis back again, maybe even two or three times in the year. Teachers are not the only ones needing a yoga boost. You can get your students back in the groove. And everyone affected by the pandemic needs to do more yoga.
Use your SATYA Member Resources webpage more often. You have more resources than you’ve probably utilized. Plus we’re adding a calendar of teacher events to the page soon.

And plan more teacher gatherings! You can easily mask for the event, or even do an at-home test so everyone feels more comfortable together. When you get together, you are not the only one who benefits. So do your students.
