Poses for Meditation Teachers
Begins Thursday November 3
Lokananda Retreat Center, Downingtown PA
Only two types of problems arise in meditation: difficulty with your body or your mind. Learn how to help your students (and yourself) with their bodies.
Sthira sukham asanam. – Yoga Sutras 2.46 The seated pose is steady and easy.
The seated pose is foundational to meditation. This is why the course is a prerequisite for Meditation Teacher Training (MTT), where you learn to help students (and yourself) with their minds.
Learn several variations on the seated pose, including how to use a chair effectively for meditation. Learn to teach several introductory yoga poses, all as preparation for an effective seated posture.
While sitting sounds like it should be simple, the human body is wonderfully complex. To help different kinds of people, you need to know some anatomy along with biodynamics and their effect on the meditative energies. Thus, this training also includes meditation, yoga philosophy, anatomy, partner pairing, stories from the ancient sages and an introduction to the chanting of Sanskrit texts.
This program has opened up a new dimension of my mind and body. There is so much knowledge given in such a short time. – Alena T.
The four yoga-full days include yoga classes and deep guided relaxations. Be amazed at how quickly and easily Svaroopa® yoga changes your body. You’ll be able to learn in a whole new way. Organically. Easily. Improvements in your body make your meditations easier and deeper, something you’ll be able to offer your meditation students as well.
