What are Classroom Therapeutics?
To simplify our training for Yoga Alliance, Swami Nirmalananda removed the therapeutics previously woven through every pose. These skills will now be taught in new programs titled:
Yoga Classroom Therapeutics (YCT) — Levels 1, 2, 3 & 4
What are classroom therapeutics? These are powerful adaptations for poses that make more people able to get the benefits of Svaroopa Yoga, even if they aren't fit or flexible when they begin. Or they want their yoga to help them with a healing process. This covers about 60% of the people attracted to yoga classes!
For example, our Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) still has Supta Garbhasana with the Dual Kneecap Press,
but the Cure-All Knee Press is now in YCT.
The difference is found in two criteria: how long it takes to do it and how many students need it. When few students need it or it is time consuming, it’s moved to YCT. These therapeutic protocols are very valuable, underlying many yoga therapy skills as well as teaching skills for special groups, like Pregnant Yogis, Seniors, etc. Thus they also serve as your springboard to more advanced teaching and therapy skills.
Teachers who trained in our 10-day YTT programs, or the earlier immersions and year-round programs, won’t need the Classroom Therapeutics trainings. When you train in the 5-day or 7-day YTT programs, you can easily gain the therapeutics, if you want them, in our new YCT trainings.
Tail to top, we create the inner opening, inviting Grace to reveal your Divine Self. Svaroopa® yoga gives you the inner alignment you’ve craved all your life, the synchronizing of your individuality with your inherent Divinity.
