After Shaktipat

The energy of Consciousness is now fired up, ready to carry you all the way home. Your Kundalini is awakened. Enlightenment is assured.

Meditate every day. It will be easier to do when you use these guidelines:

  • Meditate at the same time every day. Make it part of your life’s daily rhythms, like brushing your teeth.
  • Do some preparation before you begin your meditation. It can be short, like repeating mantra aloud for 2 minutes. Or you can read a teaching or watch a video from Gurudevi. You may want to do some yogic breathing                               or yoga poses.
  • Set up your meditation seat so your spine is comfortably upright. Remember to glide your head and neck back so they are in line with your spine.
  • Set a timer. This is so you don’t keep track of time in your head. Ideally you can meditate for the same amount of time daily. Maximum is 3 hours, if you want to drive, use your mobile phone, etc.
  • Journal afterward, even jotting down a few words; this gives your mind an opportunity to learn from your inner experience. You are imprinting Consciousness on your mind and heart.

While enlightenment is assured once you receive Shaktipat, you get there faster if you learn more about the goal and the process.

Remember, your most important practice is meditation. If you are having trouble fitting it into your day, meditate for 10 minutes before you go to bed.

Sit on the floor or in a chair — not in your bed! Repeat the mantra aloud for a few minutes and then meditate by repeating it inside for your whole meditation period. To evaluate what you get from it, notice how you feel at the end. You will definitely feel better, no matter what happened in your meditation.
